Our Privacy Promise

GoToolify is designed around a simple principle: your files stay yours. We built this service specifically so you can convert, compress, merge, resize, and optimize files without ever giving up control of your data. This policy explains exactly how we achieve that.

1. Files Are Processed Locally in Your Browser

All file conversion, compression, merging, resizing, and optimization happens directly in your web browser using JavaScript. When you select a file and use one of our tools, the file is read by your browser and processed on your device. Your file is never sent to any server.

You can verify this by opening your browser's developer tools (F12), navigating to the Network tab, and using any GoToolify tool. You will see zero network requests to external servers during file processing. The only network requests are for loading the webpage itself (HTML, CSS, JavaScript files) and external libraries hosted on CDNs — never your files.

2. Files Are Not Uploaded to Servers

GoToolify does not operate any server that accepts file uploads. We do not have servers that receive, process, or store your documents, images, or any other files you choose to work with. There is no backend API, no file-processing pipeline, and no cloud storage integration.

Because there is no server-side file processing, there is nothing for an attacker to intercept, no database that could be breached, and no server logs containing your file data. This architecture eliminates entire categories of privacy and security risks that are inherent to traditional file conversion websites.

3. Files Are Not Stored

We do not store your files. Once you close or refresh the page, the file data in memory is released by the browser. GoToolify has no database, no file storage system, and no backup system that retains user files.

The only copies of your files are the ones you explicitly download through your browser's download dialog. GoToolify does not retain any copies of your processed or unprocessed files after your browser session ends.

4. No Account Required

GoToolify does not require you to create an account, sign up with an email address, or provide any personal information. All tools are available immediately to anyone who visits the website.

We do not maintain a user database. We do not know who you are, and we do not want to know. Your use of GoToolify is completely anonymous.

5. No Access to Your Files

Since files never leave your device, GoToolify — its operators, developers, hosting providers, and any third parties — cannot access, view, copy, or analyze your files. The architecture makes it technically impossible for us to access your data, even if we wanted to.

6. Cookies and Local Storage

GoToolify uses localStorage for one purpose only: remembering your theme preference (light or dark mode). This is a simple key-value stored in your browser that does not contain any personally identifiable information. No cookies are used for tracking, analytics, advertising, or any other purpose.

Specifically, GoToolify does not use:

  • Third-party analytics cookies
  • Advertising or tracking cookies
  • Session tracking scripts
  • Fingerprinting techniques
  • Social media tracking pixels

7. Third-Party Services

GoToolify uses the following third-party services, none of which have access to your files:

  • Google Fonts — Serves the Inter typeface. A request is made to Google's servers to load the font files. This is a standard web font loading process and does not involve your files.
  • CDN services (Cloudflare, cdnjs) — Serve JavaScript libraries (pdf-lib, jsPDF, JSZip) that power the browser-based tools. These are standard cached library files and do not transmit any user data.
  • Hosting provider — Serves the static HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files that make up the GoToolify website. The hosting provider serves files but does not have access to the files you process in your browser.

No third-party service receives, processes, stores, or has any access to the files you work with on GoToolify.

8. Data Retention

GoToolify does not retain any user data. No logs containing file metadata, filenames, file sizes, or user activity are stored server-side. The only data that exists is what your browser holds in memory during an active session, which is released when you close or refresh the page.

9. Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy is updated, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Material changes will be noted prominently. Since GoToolify does not collect user data, we cannot notify you individually — we encourage you to review this page periodically.
